The Dark Realm is led by the evil Queen Adreana, who is gaining power. Her goal is to conquer all of the Five Realms and create what she calls “peace.” Adreana begins to spread a strange darkness that kills anything in its path across the Five Realms. 

 

Serin is an assassin from the Dark Realm sent to kill the Elf Princess Halfrida. Before she can strike, she is captured by Princess Halfrida along with Princess Arabella, the Sea Realm’s princess. Adolfina, Adreana’s shapeshifting daughter, is sent to make sure Serin is okay, but she too is captured. 

 

When Serin and Adolfina learn that Adreana is slowly killing the realm with darkness they decide to join the two princesses in a quest to save the Realms. They must keep the First Ruler's Crown safe and make sure that Adreana doesn’t get a hold of it. If she does, she will gain immense power that the crown holds and take over the Realms in an instant. 

 

The Crown of Darkness is the first book in a series called the Five Realms.
